After the Rain, Haliburton

The lake at Haliburton. Last Sunday it rained for most of the day, clearing in the evening. I painted this in my cabin as soon as I arrived.

Yesterday while it was super hot, I wandered around in the the back acres. It's very dry again and everything was crunching underfoot. Some lovely clouds floating by....but nothing suggesting rain.....I dramatized what I saw here.

A beautiful, breezy, sunfilled day in late July. I stayed close to home and made 2 sky paintings. Acrylic on unprimed Arches paper.

Temperatures cooled gradually after the heatwave, but there was no rain.....just lovely big clouds that roamed off into the distance.
